Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a safe, minimally invasive treatment designed to lighten the shade of your natural teeth and remove deep stains caused by food, drink, lifestyle habits, or ageing.

What Is Teeth Whitening?

Professional whitening ensures predictable results using clinically tested formulas and custom-made whitening trays. Our approach combines at-home precision with an in-practice whitening boost to help you achieve a consistent, even shade from every angle.

The treatment uses the Enlighten whitening system — a trusted combination of at-home and in-practice whitening.

Who Is This Treatment For?

Teeth whitening may help to:

  • Lighten the shade of your natural teeth
  • Reduce staining from tea, coffee, wine, or smoking
  • Improve uneven colouring across the smile
  • Complement treatments like Invisalign® or composite bonding

You may not be suitable if:

  • You have untreated decay
  • You have active gum disease
  • You have a high number of visible fillings or crowns on front teeth
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding

Step-by-Step Treatment Process

Consultation — a full dental examination to check for decay, gum issues, or visible fillings, and to confirm suitability.

Pre-whitening conditioning — a specialist desensitising serum to use at home to prepare teeth and reduce sensitivity.

Custom tray creation — precise moulds of the teeth are taken and sent to the laboratory licensed to create Enlighten trays for a perfect fit.

At-home whitening (14 nights) — wear custom trays nightly for two weeks using the Enlighten whitening gel for gradual, controlled whitening.

In-practice power whitening (day 15) — a professional whitening session to boost and lock in results.

How Long Do Results Last?

Typically 2–4 years with good oral hygiene. Avoiding excessive staining foods and drinks prolongs brightness. Occasional top-ups using your custom trays can maintain results. Smokers or heavy coffee and tea drinkers may require more frequent maintenance.

Risks, Considerations, and Limitations

Temporary sensitivity may occur during treatment.

Fillings, crowns, and veneers do not lighten with whitening gel. Additional dental work may be suggested to match the new shade.

Professional whitening is safe and does not damage healthy enamel. Only natural teeth can be whitened.
