Dr. Sam Sherif

Dr. Sam Sherif is the chief dentist at the Alexandra Dental Centre, and a Registered Manager of Alexandra Private Hospital. He takes pride in offering the same standard of care whether you have come for a single crown or a full-mouth reconstruction.

He received his dentistry degree from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’, then completed a five-year full-time advanced graduate prosthodontic residency at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. As a US-trained prosthodontist he specialises in implant, restorative and full-mouth reconstructive dentistry. He has lectured at Harvard, and for major implant companies including Biomet 3i.

After Harvard he taught residents, then worked in a restorative and implant practice in Beverly Hills and ran his own office near Malibu. He came back to Britain with that technical training, and with the older Guy’s habit of recommending the least invasive option that will actually last. Preserve natural tooth where it can be preserved. Prioritise long-term health. Make it look as if the work was always there.

He also maintains a practice on Harley Street. The Centre in Chesterfield is not a satellite of that — it is a Hospital dental practice, designed to those specifications, on Basil Close, a few minutes from Chesterfield Railway Station.

His research has included implant microbiology and systematic reviews, published in peer-reviewed journals. Outside the chair he follows rugby and football.

On Harley Street, where he also practises.

He also teaches other dentists. One of those sessions is below.

The Centre

Designed around that training.

The Alexandra Dental Centre is on the Hospital site, with its own rooms and the computer-guided kit the work actually needs. From enquiry until long after the last review, the aim is the same: swift, careful treatment, less fuss afterwards, and a smile you will be happy to show.
