TURP

Transurethral resection of the prostate: blocking tissue is removed through the urethra, using a telescope.

TURP is an established operation for benign enlargement of the prostate. Tissue that is blocking the flow of urine is trimmed away from inside the urethra. There is no cut on the skin.

It is usually a short stay in hospital. A catheter is used for a time afterwards. The details belong in a consultation, once the service is open.

The urology service is not open for booking yet. Nothing on this page is an offer of treatment.
