Treatments for benign enlargement of the prostate
Rezum
Steam is used to shrink excess prostate tissue that is blocking the flow of urine.
UroLift
Small implants hold enlarged prostate tissue away from the urethra, to improve the flow of urine.
TURP
Transurethral resection of the prostate: blocking tissue is removed through the urethra, using a telescope.

Circumcision
Surgical removal of the foreskin, most often for a medical reason such as tightness or recurrent infection.
Vasectomy
A permanent form of male contraception. The tubes that carry sperm from the testes are sealed.
Hydrocele repair
A hydrocele is a collection of fluid around the testicle, which causes swelling. Repair drains the fluid and reduces the chance of it collecting again.
Epididymal cyst excision
A cyst arising from the epididymis — the tube that sits behind the testicle. If it is large or troublesome, it can be removed.
Erectile dysfunction
Difficulty getting or keeping an erection. There are many causes. Assessment is with a consultant; treatment depends on what is found.
Male menopause
A phrase sometimes used for symptoms linked to a fall in testosterone in later life. It is not the same as the female menopause.
