Why people consider it

What are the benefits?

  • Often considered for heavy upper lids or fullness under the eye
  • Can be upper lids, lower lids, or both
  • Usually a day-case procedure

Often considered in the situations above. A consultation is the place to talk about the result you have in mind, and whether this procedure is a sensible way there. Nothing is offered until that conversation has happened. Individual results vary.

Upper lids, lower lids, or both. Most cases are day surgery under local anaesthetic with sedation, or under general anaesthetic if you prefer. An overnight stay is arranged when it is kinder.

It is a small operation with a large effect on how tired you look in photographs — and in the mirror at eight in the morning. If the lid is blocking sight, that belongs with the eye surgeons, in the same building.

Eyelid surgery is sometimes combined with a facelift in the same surgical session.
