Eyelid surgery

Eyelid surgery here includes lids that droop into the line of sight, lids that turn in or out, and lumps that need to be removed. Some of this work is medical. Some of it is also a matter of how the eye looks.

What can be treated

A heavy upper lid can rest on the lashes and narrow the field of vision. A lid that turns in (entropion) or out (ectropion) can irritate the eye. Cysts and other lumps on the lid can be removed.

Eyelid surgery, where the concern is how the eye looks rather than the health of the eye, is also discussed at consultation. It is carried out in the same building.

For eyelid surgery where the concern is how the eye looks, you may also use the Hospital’s eyelid surgery page.
